What We Do
Our purpose is to allow the disabled, housebound and elderly frail to participate fully in parish and local community activities and thereby relieve their loneliness and isolation.
The activities we organise include the following:
- Visits to housebound members
- Transport to church at weekends
- Monthly outings to gardens and parks, museums, theatre, cinema, etc.
- Monthly coffee mornings
- Fortnightly shopping trips
“I was introduced to The Hand in Hand Group when my husband died last year. I’ve met a lot of new people through the Group and it has helped enormously in relieving my loneliness.” (Anne)
“The shopping trips are a fantastic help.” (Helen)
“I help drive the minibus because I love seeing the smiles on their faces!” (Phil)
“I love the trip to the Cotswolds each spring – it’s a real treat to get out of London for the day.” (Dolly)
“The monthly coffee mornings are a lovely way of catching up with everyone.” (Ellen)
